2024 Ice Cream Server Truckee Locations (Mid-Summer Hire)
The face of Little Truckee Ice Creamery. If you enjoy working with others and entertaining happy customers, this job is for you. We are looking for upbeat, social, customer oriented and energetic servers. This is a high paced job scooping ice cream, making coffee drinks and keeping a clean and organized shop.
Applicants must be available through Labor Day Weekend and September. You may apply even if you are not available through September, but please specify your availability when applying.
We ask that all employees be open and available to working either the Donner Lake Shop or The Truckee Ice Cream Trailer as needed. Please specify in your application if you prefer to work at a specific location and if so, which one.
Pay:
$16.00 hr plus tips (Which historically averages $10+ hr.)
Requirements
- Must be able to work any day of the week including Weekends and Holidays (Labor Day Weekend!) (Any vacations must be approved 2+ weeks in advance)
- Must have own transportation (there is a bus and micro transport, but make sure it works for you.)
- Must have or obtain a food handlers card (very easy and inexpensive to get online).
- Able to stand at counter for 5 hours and be able to scoop ice cream (yes, breaks are available)
- Be able to work alone or with others.
- Be punctual and show up to work.
- Be at least 16 years old by the hire date
Duties
- Pre-shift Setup
- Customer Service (friendly, accommodating and upbeat)
- Cashier
- Scooping Ice Cream
- Making Coffee Drinks (Espresso Machine)
- Stocking Ice Cream and Service Materials
- Cleaning: Indoor Service Area, Outdoor Area, Dishes, Restrooms
- Keeping Shop Organized
- Closing Procedures
- Taking out Trash
- Assist with small kitchen duties
- Following Detailed operating procedures
- Wash Dishes
Shifts
- Summer Shop Hours are 12:00 – 9:00PM
- Standard Shift hours are 11:45 am to 5:30pm or 5:00pm to 9:30pm or later.
- We also offer a 2:00 pm to 9:30 pm shifts for those that prefer longer hours
- After around September 15th, we reduce hours to 12:30-7:00pm and reduce hours further as weather cools off.
